The carnivals of Tenerife are known for being among the best in the world. Some people even think they are number one, for many different reasons. But what they do not know, until they have lived it, is that Tenerife is such a joyful island and celebrating is not limited to the established dates and the capital city area.
In the south of Tenerife huge parties also take place, and they are becoming more and more popular, and attract more participants each year.
One of the main tourist areas in the south of the island is Los Cristianos, within the municipality of Arona, and this is where the carnivals of the south take place, in the week following those celebrated in the capital.
